SATAKE SALES MEETING, HIROSHIMA (JAPAN) PDF Print

From 20-23 April JOSÉ BORRELL S.A attended the annual SATAKE Sales Conference - held this year in Hiroshima, Japan where we had the pleasure of visiting SATAKE's head office.
The SATAKE CRYSTAL LABORATORY where the meetings were held, contains a diverse range of areas, from R&D through to the SATAKE Museum which shows the history of the company. There is also a reception area where hundreds of different varieties of rice, wheat, corn and nuts samples can be seen from all over the world.

The Main Test Facility is a large demo/test area made up of different levels where products can be processed and conveyed. The Analysis Laboratory is where product samples can be studied to look at their DNA, detect pesticides, micro-organisms etc.

Satake History Museum

The SATAKE History Museum clearly shows the history of the company using a range of curious objects & machines, as well as some personal objects belonging to Mrs. Toshihiko Satake (company President).

We also visited the Sorting & Processing Integrated Centre where we saw optical sorting equipment of both colour and shape like the Full Color Belt Sorter as well as chute based sorters and other SATAKE equipment such as rice washers, huskers, polishers etc. This showroom is a great facility to be able to see the equipment running and really look at the equipment in detail.

Sorting and Processing Integrated Center

We are proud to have been invited on this occasion. Thanks to SATAKE we have been able to visit a great country, see a different culture and enjoy some excellent hospitality while visiting the company's historical roots in Hiroshima.

Mrs. Toshiko Satake, President of the corporation, was kind enough to receive us the first day, inaugurating the Conference, which was appreciated by everyone present.

In conclusion, BORRELL would like to thank SATAKE for a hugely enjoyable and informative few days in Japan. "Domo arigato gozaimasu SATAKE!"
