BORRELL brings its next generation of AI optical sorting to Alimentaria FoodTech 2026

BORRELL will exhibit at Alimentaria FoodTech 2026, taking place from October 6 to 8 at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue. Visitors will find us at Stand C-230, where we will present some of our latest developments for the nut processing industry, with a special focus on the new Borrell Smart Sorter® Vision range.

AI optical sorting, trained by nut processing specialists

The new Smart Sorter® Vision platform represents a major step forward in BORRELL’s optical sorting technology. It combines advanced AI vision, intelligent classification and flexible sorting criteria with one of BORRELL’s greatest strengths: more than a century of experience in nut processing.

In AI sorting, performance depends not only on cameras, computing power or algorithms. It also depends on knowing what to look for and how to train the system. BORRELL’s experience with almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts and other nuts gives our engineering teams a unique understanding of products, defects, varieties and real processing conditions.

The result is a sorting platform designed specifically for the nut industry, capable of evolving with each customer’s products and quality requirements.

Smart Sorter® Vision is based on technology developed by BORRELL, including its electronics, software, vision architecture, mechanical design and machine integration.

The new range will be manufactured at BORRELL facilities in Spain and the United States, giving customers direct access to engineering, technical support and continuous machine development on both sides of the Atlantic.
