XI Almond and Hazelnut Meeting in Cuenca (Spain)

On April 29, 2026, BORRELL participated in the XI Almond and Hazelnut Meeting, organized by the Spanish Association of Almond and Hazelnut Exporters (SAB-Almendrave), held this year in Cuenca, Spain.

The event took place at the Hospedería del Seminario, located at Plaza de la Merced, 3, in an emblematic setting that welcomed some of the key players in the almond and hazelnut value chain in Spain.

This annual meeting has become a reference event for the sector, bringing together operators, institutional representatives, and key industry organizations in a forum focused on dialogue, value creation, and the promotion of excellence in both products. After previous editions held in cities such as Alicante, Córdoba, Almería, Reus, Murcia, Madrid, Albacete, Badajoz, and Valencia, Cuenca was the host city in 2026.

For BORRELL, it was an excellent opportunity to present our revolutionary patented HyperQuadro® Smart-Adjust splitters, the new Borrell Smart Sorter® Vision range, and many more innovations in blanching, drying, slicing, flour production, and other high value-added processes and advanced automation, with solutions optimized for the almond and hazelnut industry.

In addition, our Sales Director, Vicente Sapena Roig, gave a presentation covering these innovations, as well as the main trends in machinery and automation for the almond and hazelnut industry, both in Spain and internationally. His presentation shared an updated vision of the sector’s technological evolution, the new production challenges, and the opportunities opening up in an increasingly demanding and competitive market.
